A microbrewery-hostel located in the heart
of the West Virginia mountains.
The Brewstel is a brewery-hostel located in Elkins, WV. Guests can stay in our 12-bed hostel and tour mountains of north central West Virginia, while enjoying the sites and sounds of culturally rich Elkins, WV.
The Hostel - $25 a night per person
The hostel is ready for guests! Located next to the local-favorite Jabberwock Bar & Grill, the Brewstel's hostel has the comforts of a hotel without the massive carbon footprint.
The hostel is an affordable alternative for tourists. It features two communal bunk rooms--the Cabin and Caboose rooms--built from reclaimed barn wood donated by a local farmer.
Each room has six bunks, six lockers, a bathroom and two private shower stalls. The hostel has a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable common area and a large rooftop deck.
The Microbrewery
The microbrewery is still in development with the grand opening targeted for 2012. Customers will be able to sample Brewstel's microbrews or create their own craft beer in our nano-brewing facility.
The microbrewery storefront will feature home brewing and gardening supplies, homemade ice cream and fashion-your-own sodas.
Sustainable, Green Living
At the Brewstel sustainable living and thinking green is a vital part of our business plan. We have made mindful choices in all aspect of our business--in our building renovations, our community contributions and our selection of products and services.
So, in addition to providing vitality to the local community, we're developing a sustainable rooftop garden, actively recycling, installing tankless water heaters, reclaiming old wood for new uses and installing motion-sensing indoor lights.
Future plans include using locally grown produce for our products, recycling rain water, providing a compost drop off sit for locals and donating our used mash and grains to local farmers.
